Meditation Dance School is a pure dance form created by Marita
Sanguinetti MA.
The main aim of this system is to educate you to understand
your body, movement and life better and to help you develop positive
ways of relating to yourself, others & our world. In essence, you are
invited to dance to achieve health and wellbeing in all areas of your life.
When you dance you will feel relaxed and at the same time full of
energy. In practicing regularly you will shine with health and
happiness, as really good health is synonymous with happiness,
and together they reflect energy and beauty. Come and dance
to warm rhythms and enchanting melodies and generate
vitality, pleasure, freedom, friendship and peace. All welcome,
no experience needed.

Marita Sanguinetti created Meditation Dance School as a coming
together of different dance disciplines, meditation, yoga practices and
related arts. These primarily were inspired by the Denishawn principle of
tension and relaxation and include the Martha Graham technique, a
dance form Marita has been working with since she was a young student
dancer herself.
Martha Graham's identified a new system of movement and new
principles of choreography. For her, movement originated in the
tension of a contracted muscle, and continued in the flow of energy
released from the body as the muscle relaxed. Marita Sanguinetti saw
a link between this way of understanding movement with the principals
of the ancient practice of Yoga and meditation, for the past four years
she has researched into the ancient world techniques of Integral Hatha
Yoga developed by the Hindu teacher Sivananda and bought to the
west by Hindu teacher Satchidananda. Marita further developed her
beautiful meditations in motion by taking her discoveries and
combining them with her own interpretation of the Rolando Toro System.
Rolando Toro first created his system when he was working as a
young doctor in Chile. In the years that followed he drew upon his
years of study in science, anthropology and the arts to develop his
beautiful dances and exercises. Marita Sanguinetti was trained by
Professor Toro him self. She was the first student of his to qualify as a
teacher in the UK and went on to become a didactic teacher trainer
from The Biocentric School in Milano. In 2006 year Professor Toro
appointed her director of his School in London and also in Brighton.
Marita holds classes and workshops in London as well as
directing retreats in some of the worlds most beautiful and natural
environments in Greece, Spain, Italy, Ireland and Cornwall UK.
Marita is a qualified teacher for the international Helen O’Grady's
Drama Academy and teaches dance (Laban System), voice work,
improvisation and performance. For many years she has lectured at
Kensington and Chelsea College in South London. Marita studied
classical, contemporary dance and choreography at The Contemporary
Dance School in London, which has a strong tradition of
performance-orientated work. She also studied and kathakali
(a classical dance drama from India) whilst at Winchester School of Art,
where she was awarded a BA with Honors, and subsequently received
a Masters Degree from Manchester University.
Through her dance, Yoga, Meditation and related fine arts
discoveries, Marita identified a method she calls Meditation DanceTM.
Marita Sanguinetti MA is the director of Meditation Dance School and
